Schmitz merges comedy with suspense to produce a wildly entertaining tale.
While he may have dreams of becoming a detective, Officer Farnsworth is not your typical member of the force. A bit overweight, more than a bit clumsy and a geek to the extreme, he doesn’t mesh well with many of his coworkers who don’t even know the difference between Star Trek and Star Wars! However, when he is assigned to a murder investigation, his unique skill set comes in handy. The murderer happens to be a comic book villain copycat. And the next victim might just be a legend in the science fiction world. Farnsworth has a lot to live up to in order to prove himself to both his department and to himself.
The investigation that spans the pages of 50 Shades of Worf is timed perfectly, with a new bit of information included in each short chapter. But the real highlight of this book is its ability to transport the reader into the world of cosplay and comic book conventions. The characters are well defined and the clashes between Farnsworth and his rough and tough partner Diego are often very humorous.
Whether you’re a diehard Trekkie or just enjoy the occasional episode of Big Bang Theory, you’re sure to love this hilarious and cheeky cop story. Christopher D. Schmitz merges comedy with suspense to produce a wildly entertaining tale in 50 Shades of Worf.
