The perfect page-turning getaway.
Maggie Edwards may not have the most thoughtful boyfriend in the world, but it doesn’t keep her up at night. Confident in herself and in the small book and antique shop she runs, Maggie enjoys her dependable daily routine. That is, until a beautiful and mysterious gem encrusted golden beetle accompanied by a puzzlingly vague note arrives from the other side of the world, sent from her archaeologist uncle Ollie. Urged to keep the beetle on her person at all times, Maggie fails to connect a break-in at her apartment with her charge. Soon, however, the connection becomes ominously clear and Maggie has to run for her life. And Maggie isn’t the only one in trouble.
Nellie Steele is a talented author who writes with a great deal of passion. Cleopatra’s Tomb is a high-stakes multi-continent romp led by an enterprising, if not at times frustratingly stubborn, main character. A bit of a snob, Maggie finds herself dropped into the middle of the adventure she didn’t know she needed. The plot moves at a frenetic pace and, paired with Maggie’s expensive taste and Steele’s superb ability to paint a picture, reads like a big-budget summer blockbuster! If you enjoy a good mystery and love to travel but find yourself unable to get away, Nellie Steele definitely deserves a spot on your reading-list radar. With its dynamic cast and glittering embellishments, Cleopatra’s Tomb is the perfect page-turning getaway.
