Dating Turns Deadly is just one installment in the Cold Springs Mystery Series, although this book works really well as a stand-alone cozy mystery. The setting is fabulous, showcasing the ranches and natural beauty of Colorado. Georgia has degrees as a vet tech and in animal husbandry, so there are lots of richly described scenes with the majestic animals of the ranch where she works. There are many minor editing issues in the text, but the overall story is unimpaired. The dialogue is simple and the characters are easy get a handle on. For a laid-back mystery with a small-town vibe, Dating Turns Deadly is a wickedly fun diversion.
