Kill Code by Luna Kayne

Romance and plot abound in this sizzling new thriller.

Jack looks young for his age, so at 23 he is sent back to high school as an undercover government operative. The goal is to learn about Maxwell Sparr, son of an untouchable crime boss. Jack succeeds in getting close to Maxwell but gets even closer to a high school senior named Jessa. Jack and Jessa quickly fall for each other, but both are hiding some dangerous secrets. When Jack’s mission goes awry and Jessa turns up missing, their hopes for a future together are shattered. Years go by, but that first love isn’t quickly forgotten. Circumstances bring them together again, but the stakes are higher than either of them could ever have imagined.

Jessa is an impressive lead character. She is tough, physically and mentally, yet at the same time nurturing and protective. Although Jessa has lost most of her family, she cultivates and depends on her friendship with the vivacious Dana. I love that she excels at computer hacking, a field generally male dominated. Especially at first, the interactions between Jessa and Jack are tense and visceral. The story proves to be edgy and exciting as Jessa truly works toward her exit plan. Romance and plot abound in this sizzling new thriller from the talented Luna Kayne.
