Fast Forward by Gee Scales

A treat for time-travel buffs and sci-fi geeks everywhere.

An innocent trip to New York City 20 years in the future shatters the relative peace that the Tiders have been enjoying since saving the world from Jacob Carrington and his evil schemes. Maxine, Jacob’s daughter and honorary Tider member, now sits as CEO of Wimaxca. Divesting the company of the shadier arms of Wimaxca is a full time job, leaving little time for relationships or any time-travel related drama. But in 2015, Maxine’s closest friend stumbles across news that hits close to home. With only two weeks to prevent a horrible crime, the Tiders must pull together and push themselves to their limits to save not only a friend, but history itself. Fast Forward proves to be delicate dance balancing the fine line between preserving the future and saving the lives of those that matter most.

Fast Forward is the fast-paced second installment in a frenetic tech-driven science fiction series by Gee Scales. The story is well thought out and complex, appealing to a more cerebral audience. At the same time, an objective look at modern technology trends and fun movie quotes volleyed between friends adorn the pages, making the characters realistic and likable and helping the whole book to have a down-to-earth feel. The antagonists manifest in surprising ways making for a breathtaking race to the conclusion. The confluence of science fiction and technological innovation, with a diabolical virus added in for good measure, makes Fast Forward a substantial and entertaining novel that is a treat for time-travel buffs and sci-fi geeks everywhere.
