A fresh start is in order and a sleepy New England tourist town is Sarah’s first choice. She has a history that she desperately wants to forget, and Provincetown promises a reprieve from past trauma and the possibility of settling into a calm life. But for Sarah, who was orphaned at a young age and is lost in more ways than one, nothing comes easy. Her first night in town leads to an embarrassing run-in with the persistent and kindhearted Deputy Catrina Diaz. One meeting with the law turns into two awkward encounters, and then a legitimate relationship begins to form between this unlikely couple. Cat can immediately sense that Sarah is holding back, but how can she pry when everybody already seems to have a sense of Sarah’s history? Will Sarah’s inability to trust and connect prevent her from totally opening up to Cat? And if she does share her troubled past, will Cat be able to bear the truth?

An approachable addition to the LGBTQ romance genre, Finding Sarah is so much more than the sum of its parts. The cast is incredibly well drawn and surprisingly diverse, from the ever optimistic Reverend May, to a reformed prisoner who is finally able to ground herself, adding warmth and realism to a story teasing heartbreak around every dark corner. But this book isn’t only propelled by its genuine characters. The story becomes suspenseful and even more engaging as readers are slowly treated to all of Sarah’s secrets. Add in a few compelling plot lines pulled from old closet skeletons, and the result is a book that will appeal to anybody looking for an authentic romance with a few curveballs. Featuring a strong lead character battling her own powerful demons, Finding Sarah is a book that grabs your attention on page one and only gets better after that!
