She announces her intentions to her two closest friends over lattes. “Girls, I’m going to have a baby!” Familiar with Ella’s tenacity and fiery independence, news of a sperm donor and impending single motherhood is only a mild surprise. Ella knows raising a baby alone will be challenging, but the clock is ticking and Mr. Right may never knock on her front door.

Not one to procrastinate, Ella is holding precious baby Oliver in her arms within a year. Meanwhile, not far away physically, but a million miles away emotionally, is entrepreneur Scott. He’s an eligible enough bachelor, but when it comes to taking things to the next level, or anything that comes with an attachment or commitment, he beats a hasty retreat. When Scott meets Ella, their chemistry is instantaneous and unmistakable, but dating a new mom is way out of Scott’s comfort zone. Plus, for Ella, little Oliver will always come first in her life. So why even pursue a relationship that seems doomed from the start?
