Peta Knudsen, a weatherperson for the local TV station, is a bit of a local celebrity. Referred to as the Katie Couric of her town, it comes as a devastating shock when she turns up missing. Aside from the heartbreaking loss of their young son, Peta and her TV personality husband live a seemingly charmed life. Why would anybody want to hurt her? As the investigation gains traction, all the players are introduced. Peta has a devoted sister some 20 years her junior, an artsy mother with some unusual ideas on parenting, an alcoholic therapist, a former lover, and an apathetic husband all in the mix. The real mystery isn’t what happened to Peta as much as what has been happening to her leading up to the incident.
