A perfect coming of age novel for anybody who has ever felt alone or like they didn’t fit in.
“Why are Female Earthlings so illogical?” So begins the hilarious novel Joshua: Life after Theos. Joshua and his sometimes girlfriend, Mani, defy orders from their home planet, Theos, and take a one-way trip to Earth. For Josh, his mission is simply to blend in. He wants to prove that his forward thinking parents were right to pursue life on Earth with humans. For Mani, there is no mission. She’s just in it for the adventure. The two of them go their separate ways, each with their own goals. But as it turns out, they literally can’t live without each other. Add to that their risk of exposure and a complicated romance with an earthling, and you have an explosively funny intergalactic tale.
Patricia Miller demonstrates fantastic insight into the minds of teenaged aliens. Wit and humor jostle for space with the inherent awkwardness associated with adolescence. Add in a touch of suspense from a malicious antagonist bent on exposing their extra-terrestrial origins and you have a delightfully crafted young adult alien romance. Joshua: Life After Theos is a perfect coming of age novel for anybody who has ever felt alone or like they didn’t fit in. Miller is a rare talent, a true gem of a writer!
