What an utterly original and surprisingly refreshing story! Just Like the Brontë Sisters starts off as a tender story of the love between two devoted sisters. The older, while unpredictable, is always looking out for the younger. Jo Beth’s experiences impel her to share her hard earned wisdom with her sister in the form of promises. But as Skylar matures, she becomes more like her impulsive older sister, making the two more alike than different as the drama mounts. The story takes some unexpected turns, pausing for moments of suspense, disappointment, heartbreak, lust and intrigue. Literary references abound, calling to mind grand dramas, over-the-top characters and epic schemes, all of which play into this cleverly plotted novel. With a fast-paced story and no shortage of shocking plot twists, Just Like the Brontë Sisters is a story that will command your attention until the very last word.
