On Gamma Ceti, fun can be hard to come by. The Pleiadic Catholic religion rejects modern technology and most items of interest are considered contraband. Dex is a bit of a loner, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t lonely. When Tabitha Tempest storms into his life, Dex finds more than a friend. He finds the adventure that he never realized had been been missing.
The Curious Conspiracy does deliver on its titular promise. The young protagonist uncovers a conspiracy that goes deeper than he could have imagined. The futuristic, inter-planetary setting makes the book a sci-fi lovers delight. The target demographic is a bit muddled, however. The story seems a little juvenile for most adult readers, but the subject matter and sporadic language is a bit graphic for younger readers. The cover art is fantastic, portraying cartooned versions of the characters exactly as I would imagine them to look like. The book is engaging and fast paced and will surely make you reminisce about your middle school days—for better or for worse!
