When a threatening force invades Rei’s small town, powers are made manifest, long held secrets are revealed, and lines are drawn. The story shifts into high gear as Rei travels off planet and becomes acquainted with her extended family. She meets new/old friends and learns about her powers. The group of warriors has interesting powers and they work together in a fresh way in this heavily written genre. Tishner introduces a race of nearly immortal humans into the story that adds another layer of excitement to an already exhilarating story. There is plenty of deception, double-crossing, and action moving the plot forward.
M.L. Tishner displays great skill and forethought building such a detailed universe. The God Queen is an adrenaline rush led by a plucky heroine that will grab your attention and won’t let go!
