The Hangman is back and he has nothing to lose. His wife and son have been murdered and his supposed friends betrayed him. But the Hangman is not without options. “If I must be alone, then I will truly be alone. I will end all life on this miserable planet.” With the Power Ring in his possession and the help of a loyal woodland creature, vengeance will surely be his. Elsewhere, Father Tom Padilla is still reeling as the love of his life is missing. But finding Susan is only the beginning of a larger battle to come. And a powerful demon called Leechadon has only one thing on his mind. Power. This demon will do whatever it takes to get what he wants.
Epic doesn’t even begin to describe the scale of The Hangman: Vengeance. The characters have been painstakingly developed in earlier books in the series, so Vengeance is all about tying up loose ends. The story travels to different locations, dimensions, and times to help raiders grasp the enormity of the plot. Dee Rose writes with a casual and comfortable classiness that makes it easy to get absorbed in. The dialogue may take place between witches, vampires, demons and other villains, but their conversations are light, infused with humor and even a bit of comical juvenility. Fans of the series will appreciate the attention devoted to several different subplots, particularly between the Death Brothers and Susan. In what may prove to be Dee Rose’s magnum opus, The Hangman: Vengeance is an action-packed adventure and a truly appropriate conclusion to a wild urban fantasy.
