Transference is wildly entertaining and difficult to put down.
It is the 22nd century and transference is big business administered by the Church. The process allows a person’s consciousness to migrate from one body to another, over and over as needed. The potential to humanity is unlimited, but the Church isn’t altruistic in its choices. Stuck in an off world mining prison, Barrabas Madzimure is days away from execution. There is no hope for escape from this planet whose resources fuel the activities of the Church. But Barrabas is hiding a secret. Or, rather, a secret is hiding within him. He just might be the fugitive Kilraven who can bring an end to the tyranny of the Church by exposing the truth about transference.
Transference is an outstanding novel that is the perfect confluence of dark religious oppression and futuristic dystopian fiction. Kilraven is a perfectly imperfect hero who makes some difficult choices trying to reach his family. The people surrounding him are complex and interesting. Watch out for Corvus who seems to be little more than a puppet of the Church. There is more to him than meets the eye!
Transference is wildly entertaining and difficult to put down. Since this is a debut novel, I can’t wait to see what else B.T. Keaton is hiding in his sleeves!
