Weapons of Remorse by Chevron Ross

Weapons of Remorse is an emotional story that proves that from the depths of sorrow, hope surges forth.

America seems obsessed with guns. There is constant debate about citizens’ rights to own these potentially lethal weapons versus laws to restrict them, hoping to stave off needless bloodshed. Hank Phillips finds himself directly in the middle of the conflict. He is ex-military with a record envied by many, a happily married man with a beautiful son, and foremost he is a devout Christian. His personal history with guns leaves Hank feeling hollow with a need to atone. His job puts him on the front lines defending the second amendment. LaRonda Cage is an excellent cop and an even better daughter to her disabled father. One fateful night, LaRonda responds to a burglary call and comes face-to-face with Hank and his gun. The central theme of the story is dealing with the repercussions of gun violence.

At first glance, Weapons of Remorse seems to be complete pro-gun propaganda, but as events unfold a more balanced view is presented. Friends, widows, parents bereft of children, and children grieving for lost loved ones, are all able to eventually temper their grief and heartache with forgiveness and love. The novel evolves into a beautiful love story that touches a number of families. The evolution of the characters is candid and genuine.  The honest prose will have readers reevaluating their personal stance on weapons and perhaps even their relationship with God. Weapons of Remorse is an emotional story that proves that from the depths of sorrow, hope surges forth.
