This may have been the second book in the series, but it certainly holds its own. Despite not having not read the predecessor “Remembering First Love,” I was immediately sucked into the intrigue surrounding Carina Mendoza’s life.
Now living in Austin, Texas, Carina is picking up the pieces of a broken marriage to an abusive man. The divorce proceedings will take months to complete, and her possessive attorney Erik strongly advises her not to date anyone during that time. Quickly thereafter, however, Carina meets an amazing Christian man that is nothing like the husband she left on the other side of the country. Could it be God’s hand that has drawn them together? Erik’s rules may keep them apart, but as it turns out these rules only apply to other men as Erik has his own plans for this client.
The characters in this book are filled with depth, and Carina’s struggles make her a realistic protagonist. As the plot builds solidly to a tense confrontation, you will find yourself rooting for or against every character to one extent or another. The relationships between them are woven together flawlessly. What About Love is far more than simply a romance or an inspirational read. Jeanine Lunsford has masterfully combined faith, love and passion into a moving narrative.
