Asteroids – Bridge to Nowhere by Mike McCoy

Rick Munday is a devoted husband and father with a penchant for the stars. He is passionate about his career as an Assistant Professor of Astrophysics. So when the opportunity presents itself to jet off from California to D.C. to potentially earn a research grant, Rick is ecstatic. Little does he know that it isn’t a group of peers looking to further his research. Instead, a clandestine group has top-secret evidence of an imminent asteroid shower of cataclysmic proportions. Rick is merely a pawn in their twisted game of survival. He may be a scrawny academic, but Rick Munday is no pushover. He will do whatever it takes to save his family, and as much of humanity as possible, from the coming apocalypse.

ASTEROIDS is a wickedly entertaining look at humanity on the brink of destruction. Mike McCoy has taken great pains to add scientific credibility to a wildly speculative topic. In many ways, this book reminds me of the cheesy movie 2012. Both are super fun despite a few flaws and unbelievable moments. Both involve a last minute rush toward salvation. Both are outstandingly lengthy. And if ASTEROIDS were ever made into a movie, I think that John Cusack would make an excellent Rick Munday.

Sci-fi lovers rejoice! ASTEROIDS-Bridge to Nowhere is hands down one of the most enjoyable end-of-the-world novels out there!
