If you’re looking for a delightful afternoon read, there’s hardly a better option than… Joshua: Breaking Free.
Everyone’s favorite aliens, Josh and Mani, are in for more interplanetary excitement in Joshua: Breaking Free. After forming an uneasy alliance with a third Theosian living among humans on Earth, Josh and his friends come up with a plan to prevent their extradition to Theos. It is difficult to trust Rick, since he had been sent to Earth with the goal of returning Josh and Mani to their home planet to be punished for their crimes. But if falling in love is a crime, then Josh will make friends with enemies and do whatever it takes to protect his relationships on earth.
Breaking Free is such a fun novel for young readers! The content is light and the subject matter relatable for teens the galaxy over. The plot isn’t as exciting or novel as in book one, but Miller has really upped the ante in terms of the strong bonds of friendship forged between the characters. The pacing in perfect right from the start and the book is chock full of humor, particularly from Josh’s inner dialogue. If you’re looking for a delightful afternoon read, there’s hardly a better option than grabbing a giant bowl of popcorn and curling up on the couch with Joshua: Breaking Free.
