Silver Fire is the beginning of an epic fantasy saga. Freya Pickard is a masterful author. She crafts an exciting story with impressive detail. The main characters are developed and nurtured gently as the story moves forward. Otto starts off strong but learns of her weaknesses as they travel. This in turn makes her a stronger protagonist. And Erl’s frustration is evident as he wrestles with his new (to him) identity and his feelings toward his sister. Just when the story really picks up steam, the book ends. Fortunately, books 2 and 3 are already available! Fantasy lovers and adventurers alike will enjoy this riveting novel.
