Something so extraordinary that you wonder how you’ve ever enjoyed anything before.
Hannah Abbott has reached a milestone, her 30th birthday. Understandably nostalgic, Hannah reflects on her life. Her job is amazing, but the pay and benefits leave a lot to be desired. She’s in a long term relationship with a guy she loves, but who is unwilling to commit to her and her cat. How do you move forward when it seems like everything is going right, yet it all feels wrong?
Will Thorne is a man born of privilege. But that privilege can be suffocating. Looking to save face with his exacting father, Will decides to cash in on an absurd, spontaneous engagement made under the persuasion that only the right amount of beer can wield. Hannah, pragmatic to the core, decides that a marriage to Will could be mutually beneficial. Things might just work out if they can convince their families that they are actually in love, instead of being old college friends that have lost touch for the last several years.
Casey Dembowski is my new favorite author! There is nothing more satisfying than opening a book, thinking you know what to expect, and then the author writes something so extraordinary that you wonder how you’ve ever enjoyed anything before, because this book is everything! When We’re Thirty has a delectably cliched plot about a couple that keeps falling in love but not at the right time or even at the same time. The characters are so well developed that they really emerge from the page. But the conflicts and relationships are where the chemistry really happens is this remarkable romance. Profusely charming and entirely bingeable, When We’re Thirty is an awesome read that you’ll devour in one blissful sitting.
