Raiventon by Sarah Westill

As steamy as a scalding hot shower.

Raiventon. The very name sounds sensual, powerful. As Master Guardian Raiventon, Kevin Merrick lives up to the title in a physical sense. He is fully invested in keeping his wife safe from an elusive threat, even if it is only to appease his father-in-law. Compulsion turns into willingness and then an insatiable need as Kevin begins to explore his intense feelings for his wife, Raina. Having been married for some four years but practically strangers to one another, Raina struggles to deal with an unanticipated attraction to a husband she has yet to invite into her bed. Their marriage, like everything in Raina’s highly ordered life, was not by her choice. Will her husband wreck her only chance at freedom from her controlled life? Or can they trust each other enough to fight back against the system that owns them?

Raiventon is the sultry second installment in the fantasy/romance Guardians of Sziveria series. The story exists in the same orbit as Wintersfall, but focuses on different characters. Although I loved Kat and Sean in book one, when they make an appearance, they don’t pull me away as I thought they would. Instead, Kevin and Raina dominate the pages with their carefully restrained passion and the ongoing threats surrounding them. As steamy as a scalding hot shower, Sarah Westill’s words smolder on the page, but are tempered with an appropriate measure of dignity and restraint. A heady blend of romance and fantasy, Raiventon pulls you in with a dangerous plot and keeps you wanting more!
